⚠️ Spoilers ahead.
Jotaro's spirit is a Stand, awakened because DIO's return resonates with Joestar blood. DIO now wears Jonathan's body, and the awakening leaves Holly bedridden with only about fifty days to live. Kakyoin, controlled by a flesh bud, is freed by Jotaro and joins the group. Their flight to Egypt is attacked by Gray Fly's Tower of Gray and crashes, turning the journey into one long chain of Stand battles against a deadline.
