The story flashes back to high school. Koichi and his friends have started attending an atelier to prepare for art school, and their assignment is to photograph their favorite place. Koichi chooses a spot heavy with fate: the very place where Ellen's father died ten years earlier. When he and his childhood friend Sayuri arrive, they run into Ellen herself, who has come to mourn her late father.
